The Eaton's Ranch was created by three brothers, Howard, Willis and Alden, in 1879. The ranch original was in North Dakota but in 1904 the brothers brought the operation (not the land!) to Sheridan, Wyoming. Eaton's has the honor of being one of the oldest dude ranches in the United States and continues to be such a ranch today.
Luckily for Sheridan the Eaton's continue to help preserve our western roots with a horse drive each May. You'll have a bird eye view from the museum's hillside as over 200 head of horses are moved from their winter pasture to the ranch. Get the sense of a trail drive watching the horses go by at the museum! Make sure you also explore the museum and wander through the market while you're here.
